It’s day 20 in our new home and Zoey the Cool Cat is as enamored as ever. She loves the floor, both carpet and vinyl, but she doesn’t like the two bathrooms, my room (I keep the blackout curtains drawn), or the office (also blackout curtains to cut down on glare on the 4K monitors and the 4K TV. She does have her favorite positions on the floors:
We still are unpacking boxes, mostly books—we must have the largest library outside of an actual library. Books are heavy, and when one puts a lot of them in one box, the box becomes heavy. Uh, der. So I bring in one box in the morning and one in the afternoon. Each time I bring in a box, Zoey the Cool Cat believes it is solely for her. She can be nowhere around, but as soon as I put a box on the floor, BAM! There she is! It’s hers!

This morning’s box
Such a lovely cat. I was missing her. Thanks

She misses being a star, too, but I figure there’ll be time once she finds all her favorite spots.

Oh, just tell her that being star is overrated (says people who was never one, like me lol)

I’ve told her but she doesn’t believe me. Maybe she’ll believe you!

I used to think that cats and I had a special connection. But it’s wishful thinking. I just love them, but I’ve learned not to expect overtly displays of reciprocity lol It’s their world, we just work here.

Looks like a happy, happy cat! We moved our cat from Ohio to our new home in Washington state. He is such a brave cat for putting up with such a big move. It has been nearly one year and he is just now finding his favorite spots. It took him a little while, but I think he’s happy. Enjoy your new home with the cat:) Thanks for the follow as well!

Zoey the Cool Cat has made two moves, now, one of about 2 miles and then this one of 11 miles. I always took her over to the new place for a few hours for several days prior to moving in so she wouldn’t have one huge adjustment. I figured lots of small adjustments would help. I can’t imagine moving a pet farther than that, although I suspect they are like children in that they adjust fairly easily.

Of course Zoey doesn’t like those rooms, Mr. Russel. There’s no place for a sun bath. Snoops and Kommando Kitty

I know, I know. But she’s only missing out on 2 of the 14 low-sill windows, so I think she’ll get by. I do kind of miss having her sleep on me though……………..

Zoey, you are absolutely adorable!!! Doesn’t your human know that all boxes belong to cats??? We know how hard it is to teach humans. Keep track of those boxes!

Zoey the Cool Cat always has liked empty boxes where she can crawl inside but this is the first time in 11 years that she has taken to boxes that are full!

I’ll be back. I practice what I call “blog camping.” Instead of visiting every time someone publishes a new post, I cycle through all the people I follow. So when I visit, you’ll often get multiple likes and comments during the same visit. It takes me about 30 days to cycle through everyone, so don’t think I’ve forgotten you!

Errrr, Cats have their own way of being helpful. Your strategy of introducing Zoey gradually to her new home seems to be working…..she is looking pretty relaxed.

I think the mental stimulation from all the wildlife outside really wears her out. She seems to be sleeping better and eating better, which is good since she’s 11.

Loved this. I am a cat fan. They are adorable, loveable and so so fluffy. They also have great dignity.
