One of my favorite places in San Diego to go for a walk is Mission Bay Park.
Mission Bay Park is the largest man-made water park in the nation, and the ninth largest municipally owned park. Interestingly, San Diego also has the largest municipally owned park: Balboa Park.
Following are a few pictures from my most recent walk in Mission Bay Park a few days ago. I was over near the skyscraper hotel at the left side of the picture above. The hotel, a Hilton, is in one of the pictures below, and the bridge pictures below are under the long bridge in the upper center of the picture near the hotel.
Along with the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park, I can highly recommend Mission Bay Park as a way to spend a day in San Diego.
Terrific photos! I especially like the two of the bridge.

Thanks! I always worry about pictures of man-made structures that aren’t as unique as the Sydney Opera House and other such buildings.

I like to take photos of man-made structures. They don’t move. 🙂 So I usually get the pic in focus. I like the lines and shadows. Your bridge shots are perfect.

Out of focus pictures, especially of wildlife, is why I decided to make Photographic Art out of my photos instead of trying to take the perfect picture. I figured the perfect picture was never going to happen. Would be fun, but there is such a thing as limited resources.

Wonderful photos but something about #6 just really stands out to me and it isn’t even the sort of thing I typically would care for!! Just great!

Thanks! I actually walked by it and then turned around to go take a picture of it.

Fascinating that the park is all man-made, looks so natural in your wonderful photos.

It used to be a giant swamp, and some want to return it to its natural swampy state. I think that would also invite mosquitoes, though, so I’m going to stick with the Park.

It looks even more beautiful than I imagined. I was born in San Francisco and have visited much of northern California but recently found out that many of my Ortega ancestors lived in San Diego, some in the mission. Soon, I will visit and thank you for the tour!
