Many decades ago I thought it would be fun to be a painter. You know, maybe grow up to be a da Vinci, or van Gogh, or Degas, or Rembrandt……..do I need to name more? lol
Today while I was playing around with Corel Draw X6, I got some unexpected consequences of my actions:
That’s a “painting” of you know who, the little princess Zoey the Cool Cat. It wasn’t supposed to be. It was supposed to be a line drawing. I guess you could say I messed up…. I failed…. I’m a disaster….
I liked my disaster so much that I tried it on a few other pictures.
Protea from the San Diego Zoo Safari Park:
My wise old grandmother:
Lady in purple:
Where I got married on October 30, 2008:
And lastly:
If you have CorelDraw X6, simply import a picture file, click on the picture, click on “Trace Bitmap,” click on “Outline Trace,” and click on one of the five settings. That will bring up a window with some sliders and you can play around with the effects. I found that of the five settings, “High Quality Image” or “Clipart” gave me the best paintings but it seemed to depend on the complexity of the picture.
Even Zoey the Cool Cat got in on the action:

That was taken in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park on April 8, 2012.
She was a lone lady sitting there at the picnic table while the crowds around her were laughing, playing frisbee, having fun…………
