The birds on the left are the “Lake Park Gangsters” and the birds on the right are the “Fishing Pier Hoods.”

I watched for a while but couldn’t determine which side was winning.

I saw many substitutions, though.

Birds from each rail would fly down into the huddle and other birds would leave the huddle and fly to the rails.

Our birds play games, prank each other, and are very territorial. They’re always refining their intimidation techniques. Sounds like the middle of the pier is open territory!

I think all animals play sometimes, even birds. Watch a raven fly, sometimes I think they fly for the sheer joy of it. And there’s the video of a raven sliding down an icy roof over and over again.
