I’m getting to the late spring and summer in my many hundreds of folders of uncataloged pictures, and that means there are a lot of pictures of the wildlife at the San Diego Zoo, the Safari Park, and SeaWorld San Diego. Following are some wildife that you will recognize, so I’ve added a caption rather than the name:
For those who don’t recognize the following because it’s not running from a lion or jaguar on the Discovery Chanelle, it’s a gazelle.
That’s the rear end of a peacock just in case you didn’t know.

What great photos! I watched that peacock for over an hour but only got some photos of him and another bird watching something in the bushes – tail end. How often and what time usually does he ‘spread his beautiful feathers? Also, do those tusks belong to one of the two elephants that came from the Arizona zoo? I saw both of them when they were inside the quarantine area for a few weeks and they are really big elephants with massive tusks! Your photos are so beautiful – the peacock photos are my favorite!

There are ten or twelve male peacocks that make the Zoo home. The best time to see them in all their splendor is in April and May.
I don’t know which elephant the elephant parts belong to, but I do know that they don’t belong to the Arizona elephants because this picture was taken before the Airzona elephants arrived.
