Need a new member of the family?
How about a dog?
To the world you’re just another person, another family, but to your dog, you are the world!
Please consider adopting from Second Chance Dog Rescue, an organization for which I volunteer. All dogs available for adoption are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on their shots.
Upcoming events for Second Chance Dog Rescue:
- August 24, Pet Adoption Event at Petco, 13375 Poway Road, Poway, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- September 3, Pet Adoption Event at Petco, 3495 Sport Arena Boulevard, San Diego, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

If you want a dog for your family, please consider adopting from Second Chance Dog Rescue. All of the dogs with Second Chance Dog Rescue are in foster homes. There is no central location or shelter where all of them are kept, so they would love for YOU to take them to their forever home.
Visit Second Chance Dog Rescue to see pictures and find information about all the dogs that are available for adoption. Currently there are 160 adoptable dogs listed on the Second Chance Dog Rescue web site. Following is a selection of eight dogs; I took the original picture and created a black & white drawing with Photoshop CC. Click on the dog’s name or the drawing to go directly to the original picture on the Second Chance Dog Rescue adoption page.
Second Chance Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and can always use donations of time, food, leashes and collars, pet gates, and, of course, money. Click on the Donations page for further information. Donations make a difference in the lives of our fine, furry, four-legged friends.

I lost my canine companion in November – the pain is too raw to consider another one just yet. 😦 However, dogs are truly wonderful.

A new one will help the pain go away.

She was the second dog I have had to sit with as they went to sleep. Not sure I am strong enough to have to go through it again 😦
I will see how this year goes and then decide.
Thanks

I have sat with many a dog and cat at that time. It’s difficult but I have always found that it’s so much easier when I choose to share myself with another pet that needs me. It’s when the pet goes in a horrible way, like being hit by a car or eaten by a bigger animal, that really tears me apart.

I just signed up to volunteer at our local animal shelter. I hope I don’t fall in love to often. I hate to see a dog without a family.
