Top 20 Best Beach Hotels: The Lodge at Torrey Pines

One of the more spectacular hotels in the San Diego area is The Lodge at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, often referred to simply as The Lodge.

It’s one of AAA’s five-star diamond hotels, and I just found out that it was named one of the nation’s Top 20 Best Beach Hotels in the U.S. for 2013. Only three hotels in California made it onto the Top 20.

Following are some pictures from my time traipsing around the property.

If you have to ask how much the rooms are, well, like my wise old grandmother used to say, “If you have to ask, you can’t afford it.” This is the hotel where Tiger Woods stays when he’s in town playing golf. Enough said.
