Happy eighth birthday to Zoey the Cool Cat!

Cool Cat birthday

Zoey the Cool Cat had her eighth birthday on September 21. Unfortunately, I had to postpone her birthday party because I wasn’t feeling too well, certainly not well enough to eat lots of birthday cake, drink champagne, and party!

Pictures of the little queen will be available this evening around 6:00.

My new venture, Photographic Art, is off the ground and running. You might have noticed that I reorganized my menu here in order to include Photographic Art as a main menu item.

I had to regain control of my russelrayphotos.com domain, and that took a couple of days. No one wanted to take responsibility for controlling my domain name even though it’s not hard to find out anything and everything about any domain name anywhere.

When I finally regained control, I turned that site into a storage site for my Photographic Art Introduction document, my Photographic Art Catalog, and extremely low-resolution versions (to help prevent theft) of my Photographic Art.

Everything’s available from the home page of russelrayphotos.com or from within the Introduction and Catalog. Go check them out. Put them through their paces. Order something! Help support the newest starving artist!

Just for Google, though, here is everything with links:

Photographic Art Introduction

Photographic Art Catalog

The Photographic Art Introduction version here is specifically for Realtors, a built-in market for me because of my home inspection business.

You might notice that the Catalog has a date in the lower right corner of the cover. Each day I take at least two photographs and create at least four Photographic Art for each photograph. Then I update the catalog and upload it to Russel Ray Photos. The Catalog name never changes, so you can always download the latest version even with an old link.

I was going to try to get a vendor booth at the San Diego County Fair this June, but the deadline for applications is March 5, and the booth fee is anywhere from $1,100 to $3,385, depending on location. With the location of the $1,100 booth, I probably wouldn’t recoup my investment unless all my WordPress readers came to the Fair and bought something! Alas, I shall have to really be a starving artist this year. Maybe next year for the Fair….

I will be exploring some of the smaller city events, like the Arts & Crafts shows, Oktoberfests, etc.

If you’re not in the San Diego area, I do ship. Since my Photographic Art is very heavy—4×6 inches but up to three pounds!—shipping to some areas, especially overseas might be more than the Photographic Art itself. Reminds me of Amazon where I can buy a book for a penny but pay $4.95 for shipping & handling!
